colour spike
At the center lies a maxi sofa that invites repose. Its vibrant Anakreon fabric—in stark black and bold hues—by Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn, infuses playful yet refined energy.

It is the only colourful fabric in the store. Everywhere else, designers Christian and Ruxandra Halleroed – the duo behind Studio Halleroed – have used a natural palette throughout the space, echoing Estrid Ericson’s principle:
“I strongly believe in neutral colours when it comes to interiors.

A room should be calm and collected with no excessive use of colour.”
Curated pewter collection—featuring objects crafted in the 1920s and 1930s by renowned artists Estrid Ericson and Anna Petrus—infuses the interior with a distinct sense of elegance. This thoughtful inclusion not only elevates the aesthetic but also underscores TOTEME’s unwavering commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, reflected in every aspect of their store design.

Both TOTEME’s contemporary clothing and the historic pewter designs stand as testaments to visionary creators, each exemplifying Swedish artisanship across different eras. This thoughtfully curated space seamlessly blends artistic heritage with modern flair, inviting visitors to experience the very essence of TOTEME—and the timeless spirit of Swedish Grace—right in the heart of New York City.
