“Vackrare Vardagsvara”—meaning “More Beautiful Everyday Goods”—captures the essence of Swedish Grace. Here, functional objects rise through exquisite design.
Nils Sjögren’s drinking fountain for Stockholm’s Public Library exemplifies this philosophy. A brass statuette of a four-armed ancient warrior crowns black marble. Artistry merges seamlessly with utility—a hallmark of Swedish Grace’s refined harmony.
Nils Sjögren also contributed additional artistic elements to the library, including stucco reliefs and intricately crafted door handles at the main entrance. His work enriches the overall aesthetic and architectural significance of Stadsbiblioteket—the iconic library designed by architect Gunnar Asplund and inaugurated in 1928.
